My Morning Gusto is Too Much for my Family to Handle! 

It’s true, I tend to wake up at 4:50AM to hit the gym before I start my day, it gives me a great sense of accomplishment and grounds me. My fiancé thinks I am insane and generally asks me not to bother him until 9AM, my day is half done by then - insert a light eye roll here! 

 Besides this early morning routine, I take great pleasure in riding around town on bikes with my fiancé and my daughter in tow, we see so much of Vancouver this way. I also love road trips with my family and it’s a cherry on top when they're paired with lots of laughs and plenty of stops at my favourite coffee shops!

“Return to child.” In a 2011 ski film called ‘One for the Road’, by Teton Gravity Research, the film’s the main message is to ‘return to child.’ It’s a state of awareness and lesson to be content just being. It’s a quote and moto my fiancé and I always say when things get crazy or when we are striving to accomplish our dreams which, at the end of the day, isn’t always an easy path – but definitely the most rewarding.
Now that we have a daughter together we use this phrase in our day to day living with her, to be more understanding and compassionate of her ability to process information and it allows us to appreciate the ultra-small moments.
‘Return to child’ also helps me in my day to day operation in this photography career because I want to do something that truly matters to me, like a child would - intently. I spent many years in different careers, climbing corporate ladders, but ultimately I have always been drawn towards capturing very special moments that will live on with families for generations. Every shoot is an experience for me to create something different and magical with those on the other side of my lens knowing a photograph lasts forever. I take immense pride in being able to give that to you.

I’ll be the art director you need me to be when the time comes, but I’ll also let some of the day unfold and observe the magic in front of my lens capturing the most meaningful and magical candid shots of you and your loved ones.
